Hi, I’m Vera Makarova.

I’m an artist and teacher working at the intersection of academic education, contemporary figurative practice and analytical approaches to visual art.

I’ve spent 18 years studying and practicing art through several completely different schools of thought, including classical academic education and contemporary artistic methodologies.

Over time, I became deeply critical of traditional art education and started developing my own framework focused not on imitation, but on helping artists understand who they are artistically.

My goal is not to make artists paint like me.

My goal is to help them develop a clear artistic voice, stronger works and a sustainable independent practice.

This became the foundation of the Value-Based Artistic Identity Method.
